So today was a pretty laid back day for me....i stayed at home most of the day with the little man and watched some soccer...some of you out there may not like it or understand it or think it is a sissy sport or whatever but to me its the best sport ever. I only played for a short time, although i was a 10 year old version of Gordon Banks, and I am american so i shouldnt like it but it's my thing, nothing like a nice round of "hala madrid" or "you'll never walk alone."Anyways, i watched a very tasty game today which feature Aston Villa (the big 4 pretender) against Manchester United (the champions). United was down 2-1 in the 80th minute and scored two in the last 10mins to win...the winning goal was scored by Federico Macheda, a 17 year old from rome...and he scored this injury time winner in stoppage time....not bad for a kid that was born in 1991. here he is on the right after his moment of brilliance...

After a day of soccer goodness it was time for softball practice...so i headed out to the park expecting to have a nice easy practice but what i saw when i got there was much different....there were people on our field and our coach had set up some scrimmage against them...here we are a ragtag crew of a few 20-somes, one middle schoolers and a bunch of old guys and they were looking like this...

i will leave you for now but with this parting video...fernando torres as a little guy against ac milan...pretty awesome!
