Last night the first few round of the NBA draft went down. My favorite player in the draft (and probably in the world) Jimmer Fredette went tenth to the Milwaukee Bucks. Through some backroom dealings he ended up with the Sacramento Kings. Do I like the Kings? I didnt, but I do now!

As far as Jimmer goes.... How could you not like the guy? He looks like the lost member of the Beastie Boys and his name is Jimmer.  How could a guy like that looks like that go 10th in the NBA draft? The guy is pretty okay at basketball....

All true Harry Potter fans will have known that J.K. had a big announcement about something called Pottermore. The announcement has finally been made, but still the project is veiled in mystery.... There is a lot of speculation about what the project is going to contain, but we still don't know anything concrete....

The site goes live in October, but a million people will be able to start early, whatever that means. On July 31st (Harry's birthday), everyone can register and take part in an online competition to gain early entry.

Any guesses to what Pottermore is going to be like? Anybody have any plans for July 31st?

Today is huge. Our favorite rapper/lawyer, Sintax.the.Terrific, has a new album dropping, and it is one you do not want to miss....

If you aren't familiar with Sintax, you should get acquainted ASAP.  He is originally from the Baltimore, MD area and made his way to Furman for his college experience. After a few more stops, he ended up in Greenville, SC. There he plays the roles of Husband/Father/Lawyer/Rapper/Sunday School Teacher/Coach/Local Big Word, Astrophysics, Danielson, and alienating college kid (think Spencer Simmons/Monika Young) expert.

He is a founding member of legendary hip-hop group Deepspace5 and still finds time to record with them. What I really would like to see is a concert with all of them together, but I'm not going to hold my breath.  These guys are spread out all over the country.

Sintax also authors a blog that you have to check out. It is called ipoet laureate and can be found Here.  He takes whatever is in the news and puts it to beat and rhyme. It is a really cool idea and he pulls it off really well.... Check it out!

Now we get to what we really need to be talking about....The new album! It is called Prince With a Thousand Enemies and it features Sintax with the vocals and Kurfu with the beats. The album is loosely themed on Richard Adam's literary classic, "Watership Down." If you have had no exposure to "Watership Down", you should probably go read the book or at least check out the animated movie. It is a pretty crazy story that follows a group of rabbits as they seek a new home.  A complete culture, language, set of proverbs, and mythology has been set and it is told in an epic style.... You have to read it to believe it.... A animated film was done in the late 70s, but it isnt something to show the kiddies.... This is adult stuff... Check out the trailer below.... Bizarre stuff...



The album went on sale today and can be previewed Here. Pay special attention to "Of Venison Meat" which gives some pretty cool shout-outs to Greenville and then goes on to talk about the Old Spice guy, Haiku d'Etat, Crocodile Dundee, Kimbo Slice, and pencil fighting. How could you possibly go wrong?

The Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA Championship and almost everybody on the planet that they pulled it out. Of course there are a few exceptions, but it wasnt that everyone wanted to see the Mavs win, it was that everyone wanted to see Miami lose (I was included in this group). That isn't to say that there aren't some actual Mavs fans out there....

That leads us to the topic at hand... Sports tattoos... These are generally a bad idea, but there are some good designs out there.... We wont be looking at those.... We are going to be look at awful ones, and laughing at them....

The song of the day is back, and it comes from my favorite band by bucket loads, the Avett Brothers. There are so many Avett Bros. songs that I love and I really can't pick a favorite. This is a good song to listen to if you want to feel inspired or you want reassurance that you have a place in this world. Sometimes, it is more simple than that... listen to this song if you want to hear a group of guys with epic talent that really seem to have their heads on straight. It is refreshing to see a group that is gaining in popularity but still is able to find a sense of humbleness and thankfulness.
